Gain insight into Nepal’s fun and out door activities way on this small-group Nagarjun hill hiking from Kathmandu. Take private transport to Goldunga then enjoy a moderate hike with your guide through the woodlands of Nagarjun Jungle. In the top there is a Ganendra(previous king) Place. We can see panoramic views of the Kathmandu valley. Finish with a stop at all most same place before heading back to Kathmandu.
Located on a lovely little hillock Swayambhunath Stupa lies about 4km west of Kathmandu city center. There are all most 360n steps leading all the way to the top commanding a magnificent view of Kathmandu valley & the breath taking panorama of the snow-caped little Himalayan range. The tradition in the Stupa follows the Vajrayana form of Buddhism. Which is a tantric variation of the Mahayana Buddhism (the great vehicle).
The Stupa seems to have founded during the Lichhavi period. Religious & literary sources give numerous accounts of the establishment & the patronage of the Swayambhunath premises. Some literary work credit the Lichhavi king Mandev to be the founder of Swayambhu Stupa. It is also interesting to note that the Stupa went a series of renovation during the Malla period.
