Lumba Sumba Trek is newly open trekking trail introduce by Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) in 2012 April. This trail name was forme after the name of highlight trekking destination Lumba Sumba Peak. Lumba Sumba peak is 5200m high. This trail leads to the eastern part of Nepal. This peak is major destination of trek. The trek runs through Kanchanjunga Conservational Area from the Himalayas. Trekkers can enjoy the traditional farming of the area. It offers the beautiful Himalayan landscapes which is most spectacular. The route of trekking is home for many ethnic groups like Limbus, Sherpas, Gurung, Tamang, and Magars. Trekkers trekking this route can view beautiful endangered snow leopards and wildlife species. Red panda is mostly view.
The specialty in this route is that, this route explores to two Nepal’s best preserved protected areas-the Kanchanjunga Conservation Area and Makalu Barun National park. Tamor and Arun River are the two major attraction of this route. One can trek Mt. Kanchanjunga and Makalu base camp through this trekking route. Trekkers can walk around grass lands, sub tropical forests and valleys. Trekkers can view cultural heritages temples and monasteries apart enjoying natural beauty.
