Chisapani Nagarkot Hiking is a one very short and easy hiking in Nepal, but still quite a refreshing hike. Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park (159 sq km) is situated on the northern side of Kathmandu valley and lies 12 km away from the capital city. The area was periodical as the country's ninth national park in 2002. Prior its statement as national park, it was managed under the Shivapuri Watershed Development Board, and was later declared as Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. The park is easily available from Kathmandu. Visitors are attracted to the park for hiking.
We start our journey from 1 hr approximate drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal and followed by walk for 4-5 hours to Chisapani. The Chisapani Nagarkot hike has the uphill hike through the shivapuri national park. On the hiking trail to Nagarkot, we pass through some ethnic local residents, otherwise the trek is mostly through forests. When we finally reach Chisapani from the hike, we will be welcomed by the cool and beautiful hill with close view of eastern Himalayas. Following next morning we will have observe sunrise on the Himalayas from Nagarkot then we descend down to Chagunarayan for 3 to 4 hours than drive approximate one hour back to Kathmandu.
This short hike near Kathmandu valley can be done in all the seasons throughout the year and autumn or spring are most famous among them. During these seasons, Hiking to Chisapani Nagarkot offers breathe stopping views of green rolling hills, dense forests and incredible mountain ranges with a blazing sunrise views over white Himalayas.
