Officially delimited day to day itinerary of 14 days Lower Mustang Trekking package trip with Nepal Trekking in Himalayas Pvt. Ltd begins after spending a day in capital city Kathmandu with a day guided exploring tour around world heritage sites of UNESCO. Our journey starts from the stunning Lake of city Pokhara, which is second largest city in Nepal after Kathmandu. Journey continues with uphill and downhill trekking trails by crossing the farm porches, several remote villages of indigenous cast peoples in Nepal, dense forests and the trail also paths several hilly areas before reaching at Ghorepani Village. From Ghorepani we will make an early morning hike to Poonhill (3,210m) from where we can have great views of Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna South and many other snow-capped peaks. Then we continue the trek through Kali Gandaki Valley towards Tatopani, Ghasa, Marpha, Kagbeni and finally at Muktinath temple.  After having a quality time over there, our journey returns to Jomsom and fly back to Pokhara to conclude memorable Lower Mustang Trek – 14 Days with Nepal Trekking in Himalayas Team.

Lower Mustang Trek is very famous trek to Mustang region of Nepal which is also popularly known as the forbidden kingdom in Nepal. The Lower Mustang Trekking offers astonishing views of giant Himalayas and immense natural beauties with enough opportunities to explore the cultural heritages in upper Himalayas.

Trekking to Lower Mustang is categorized as moderate level trekking that can be completed by all the avid trekkers with keen interest of trekking and positive attitude. Walking capacity of atleast 5-7 hours a day is mandatory.

When you arrive in Kathmandu airport, our agency representative will be waiting for you in the airport holding our company and your name play card. From airport our agency representative will escort you to the hotel. After you check in to the hotel, you will rest and fed your flight sickness till next day.

After the well rest moment at hotel of Kathmandu head towards pokhara which takes 6 to 7 hr of drive. Pokhara is located in a lovely valley at the foot of the Machapuchare. From pokhara you will get see spectacular views of the machapuchare and other highest mountain from all parts of the town. This city is quite different then Kathmandu as it has plenty of scenic attractions and is close to the mountains. This beautiful city provide the most intresting activities before heading to trekking like ,short walks around lake side or bicycle rides around city, you can swim or canoe on Lake Phewa or just watch the last rays of the sun stream across the dip in the mountains that hold the lake. Along the lakeside road there is a continuous stretch of small hotels, restaurants and shops; it’s an area which still has a bit of the old hippy scene felt about it.

We begin our trek at Nayapul after an hour’s drive on a private vehicle from Pokhara. After a short 15-minute walk along the banks of the ModiKhola, we reach Birethanti (1,015 m), a large village with many shops and teahouses. From there, the trail continues through the village and follows the north bank of the BhurungdiKhola. our route leads to farm areas and villages, waterfalls then reaching at Ghandruk for overnight stop in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge after a good day walks of few hours.

Today, very early in the morning, we start an hour hike to Poon Hill at an elevation of 3,210 m, a brilliant mountain range spectacle; this vantage point provides an unobstructed view of the sunrise over the high Himalayas, panoramic view of Snow Mountain, best valley view. We return to Ghorepani for breakfast before continuing, climbing steadily through rhododendron forest.We then continue to Tadapani, trekking through open grassland and deep forests. On the way there are excellent views of Annapurna South and the Manaslu range. Then we make a climb along ridges, and through pine and rhododendron forests, towards Deurali (2,960 m) ,follow the river as it leaps and jumps down waterfalls, and continue down for several hour we then arrive in Tadapani where we stay in a teahouse with stunning views of Annapurna South, Machapuchare and down the valley to the horizon.We will continue our trek until we arrive at Tadapani for our overnight stay.

From Tadapani we will follow the trail that starts with a short descend to cross over a small stream and climb uphill towards Banthati where there are few tea houses and other facilities. We continue our trek with several ascends and descends through beautiful oak forest to reach the village of Ghorepani. From here we will have magnificent views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre (Fish-Tail) and other fascinating snow-capped peaks. Today we will have the night at tea house of Ghorepani.

We will make an early morning hike up to Poonhill for enjoying the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167m, Annapurna South 7219m, Machhapuchhre (Fish-Tail) 6997m, Tukuche Peak 6920m, Hiunchuli 6441m, and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. Then, we continue our trail downhill passing through GharKhola and head towards Tatopani. Magnificent view of Mount Nilgiri can be seen from Tatopani. On our route we can see variety of wild animals, birds with eye-catching waterfalls and sceneries along the way. At Tatopani, we can enjoy and relax at the natural hot spring bath where the water is approximately about 60 degrees hot.

From Tatopani, we will trek on a broad motor road trail that can be quite dusty. Our trek goes along the Kali Gandakiriver. We will gradually ascend passing through the magnificent waterfall of RupcheChahara. We continue to trek along the dusty trail that leads through deep gorges where we can hear the huge flows of the river stream and continue trekking to reach the village of Ghasa.

Leaving Ghasa we will follow the trial that goes through forest along the banks of Leteriver and head towards Lete. From there we trek along the east side of Kali Gandaki Valley to reach Larjung village. We will continue our trek until we arrive at the apple garden of Marpha. Marpha is a picturesque stone flagged village surrounded by apple orchards from which the locals produce cider and brandy. We will have accommodate at the tea house of Marpha.

From Marpha we will follow a broad trail that goes along the east bank of the river towards EklaBhatti. From here we will continue to trek along the bottom of the valley to reach the village of Kagbeni. Kagbeni is a settlement of narrow flagstone paved paths and houses with flat rooftops. Beyond the village we can enjoy stunning views of the gompa with Nilgiri, Tilicho Peak, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri rising above us. Today we will have accommodate at tea house of kagbeni.

From Kagbeni we will follow the trail that ascends steeply to the upper valley with magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak and the Kali Gandaki Valley. We will pass through one of the oldest village in the region - the village of Jharkot where the culture and tradition is largely influenced by Tibetan culture. From there we will climb all the way to reach an important pilgrimage site for Buddhist and Hindus - Muktinath. The holy shrine is a Buddhist gompa and a pagoda style temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. From here we can enjoy magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche Peak and other chains of snow-topped high peaks. Today we will have the nighty at Muktinath.

Today from Muktinath we will trek toward Jomsom after having breakfast we will have quite easy walk through the rolling hills. We will enjoy the great mountain vistas from the trail. After 5/6 hours of walking we will reach Jomsom valley. Night will be well spend at Jomsom.

After having breakfast, we will take an early morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. This will offer us an opportunity to observe the aerial view of beautiful valleys and high gigantic peaks. On reaching Pokhara you can go for sightseeing in the famous sites of Pokhara including Phewa Lake, Begnas Lake and Davis Falls etc. today we will have to spend in 3 star hotel at Pokhara.

Today is the last day of our trekking. We will drive back in our private vehicle following the same trail. We will enjoy the great views landscapes and patches of small settlements. After reaching Kathmandu you can relax in your hotel room.

The journey comes to an end today! A representative from Nepal Trekking in Himalayas will drop us off at the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight.

1. How difficult are the treks?

It depends on the individuals’ adaptation of walking in any situation and at any circumstances. It depends on the location and choice of trekkers. Both difficult as well as easy treks are available. Difficulty of the treks depends on the region of the trek and duration of it. Shorter treks tend to be easier while longer ones require some physical fitness.

2. How safe Women traveling alone with your company?

Completely, we assure the safety and security of the women travelling with us. We will provide the privacy that the women need. We will also give you a personal room on lodge and personal tent for camping while trekking.

3. What is tea house trekking?

Tea House Trek – is a trek during which at the end of each trekking day you stay for overnight in Tea Houses. “Trekking Guide Team Adventure” also organizes Camping Treks during which you stay for overnight in tents which our guides will set up for you and food during such treks will be cooked by our experienced cook.

4. Can I get Nepal visa on arrival?

Yes, you can get it in Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. As you arrive to airport fill the form and proceed to the visa line. You have to pay 25US$ for 15 days of visa from the day of issue, 40US$ for 30days and 100US$ for 90 days of tourist visa. For this you have to bring two passport size photos.

5. What is the best air route to my destination?

There are enough airline companies operating daily flights from Middle East of Kathmandu. Kathmandu only has got only international airport in Nepal so, where ever you are coming from you must come through tribhuvan international airport.

6. What type of insurance should I have before come to Nepal? Can I get it there?

For coming to Nepal you should have both medical and Rescue evacuation insurance. Yes you can get it here too, but we recommend purchasing it in your own country to avoid any last minute hassle and basal.

7. When should I travel to Nepal?

In Nepal it rains a lot between Junes to August. You too can enjoy great treks during this period of year in rain shadow region. But if you planning for more popular trek autumn and spring is the best time. As during this period climate will be moderate and will favorable for the trekking.

8. What kinds of banking facilities in Nepal?

Nepal has modern banking facilities having branches of some international bank. Almost all foreign currency along with credit card such as American Express, Visa and Master card are accepted. Nepal also has ATM facilities.

9. When should I book my trip?

We suggest you to book your trip in advance to avoid the disappointment and hassles. We too will make an effort to accommodate last minute bookings but some time due to the last minute planning we may unintentionally make few mistake which may offend you so it will be better to do advance booking.

10. Is someone going to meet me at the airport? Are transfers included?

Yes, our agency representative will pick you from airport. We will be displaying our placard of your name with our agency name.

11. How much spending money should I bring?

This depends on the destination you will be at and package, facilities you may choose . However our trip profile will give you information about how to budget form additional meals, optional excursions and extra expenses that might occur in any specific trip.

12. Does your company help to arrange domestic flight, international flight, hotel bookings and other services?

Since we are Nepal based company we refer to arrange your international flights from your home town. But domestic flight ticket will be included in our package. Other help like river rafting, city guided tour, mountain flight, jungle safari will be provided according to your necessities.

13. What is the physical conditioning level needed for trekking?

If you are in good physical condition then you do not require any hiking experience for short trekking. But if you are planning for the longer ones then you should do long day hikes at your home.

14. Is a Trekking permit needed?

Permit is not required for trekking in Everest, Annapurna, Langtang and some other regions. However, conservation permits or National park permits are required. There are few restricted trekking areas in Nepal where trekking permits are required.

15. Are the food / water safe to eat / drink?

All the meals are prepared with high standards of hygiene, fruit and vegetables are soaked in iodine before preparation. Most of lodges serve boiled and filter water which is safe. It is also possible to buy the bottle of mineral water in the trek.

16. What happens if there is an emergency?

All of our guides are trained with first aid and have basic idea about the physical problems that may arise during trekking. If an emergency occur then we will cover initial expenses of rescue operation as these expenses will need to be recovered from your insurance company. For minor cases there are health posts established by foreign doctors and many are staffed by overseas personnel.

17. What are your payment terms?

You need to pay 30% of total price as advance deposit to conform reservation before arriving to Nepal. Rest of the payment can be paid after arrival.

18. Can we bring some food from home?

You can bring power bars, cereal bars and similar high energy foods, powder Gatorade is also recommended to fight dehydration.

19. Is there any communication when we are on the mountain?

In the way in many villages along the popular trekking routes you can find telephones from where you can make international calls. And now a days we have the internet facilities most of the trekking destination.

20. What’s the difference between trekking, hiking and mountain climbing?

You can do all day walk, where you stay overnight (or several nights) at three activities in Nepal, but they are quite different things. Trekking is a multi-the place you’ve walked to.
Hiking generally refers to a one-day walk. It might be two hours or eight, but if it takes place within a single day, it’ll probably be referred to as a hike.
Mountain climbing is another thing entirely. It takes special equipment, training and comes with more risk. Neither trekking nor hiking require any special skill, other than the ability to walk.
