Gosaikunda Pilgrimage Trek - 8 Days


Gosaikunda Pilgrimage trek start from Kathmandu to Gosainkunda. Gosainkunda lake is a main attraction of this trek. It has won popularity as a holy lake too. Trip to Gosainkunda,  like as a travel religious site. Hindu mythology attributes Gosainkunda as the abode of the Hindu deities Shiva and Gauri. The Hindu scriptures Bhagavata Purana, Vishnu Purana and the epics Ramayana. Mahabharata refer to Samudra manthan, which is directly related to the origin of Gosainkunda.

Lord shiva created gosainkunda lake believed by people. Lord Shiva  thrust his Trishul (holy Trident) into a mountain then drink a water.  To extract water so that he could cool his stinging throat after he had swallowed poison.

Our trek will begins from Dhunche  where you will pass from Sherpa’s and Tamang village and also you will see snow Scrapped Mountain along the Langtang Himalaya. Along the trails past rhododendron and pine forest trees and vista of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Manaslu range, Hiunchuli and Tibetan peak is high lights of the adventure, you trek towards Gosaikunda (4,361m) and overnight here. And you will be in gosaikunda lake you will observe different views.  And also it is beautiful then after you be turn back to kathmandu.

Gosaikunda Pilgrimage trek to Lake 

It is alpine freshwater in Nepal. Gosaikunda lake is in North-east of Kathmandu. The lake melts and sips down to form the Trishuli River. Then remains frozen for six months in winter October to June.

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu,

Up on your arrival time,Our represented person will peak up you then check in to hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2
Kathmandu-Dhunche(1950m) 6 hours by bus

Dhunche is the center of this area and has public offices and army camp.You is heading north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Dhunche. While passing along the road on the bank of the Trishuli River you catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills too.

Day 3
Dhunche to Singgompa (3250m), approximately 6 hours

Today we have gone a start hiking for Frozen Lakek. After Dhunche, we will take a right side of narrow valley. 1 hour walk then we will rich to the place call Dhimsa(2600m) then steeply up alone the deep forest to the Deurali(2900m). Another deep forest walk then will rich to the Chandanbari(3200m). Few minutes’ walk then will be in Sing gompa.

Day 4
Sing gompa (3250m) to Lauribinayak(3925m), approximately 4 hours

From here the path gently ascends to the mountain with bare trees. After crossing the ridge, you will be going through a forest full of moss and fern. While you reach to Lauribinayak there is a spectacular view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Ganesh Himal and LangtangLirung. The best view point for entire trek.

Day 5
Lauribinayak to GosainKunda(4380m), approximately 3 hours

At begin steeply up till the Shiva temple then Crossing over the ridge of SaraswatiKundapper the first of several Lakes dedicated to different divinities. Gosaikund is the third lake, sacred place of Hindus and Buddhist. Rests of day just explore the local area.

Day 6
GosainKunda to Dhunche, approximately 6 hours

Same way back to Dhunche all the downhill.

Day 7
Dhunche to Kathmandu, approximately 6 hours
