Langtang National Park is the fourth national park of country. This national park was established in 1976. It contains of short treks or a long ventures. This contains a large amount of natural beauties. The local people welcome the guests. Tamang, Sherpa are mostly found in this region. This park have many ranges to visit like 70 glaciers, Langtang and GaneshHimal, lakes like; Gosaikunda, Bhairavkunda, Dudhkunda and Parvatikunda. Wheat, Maize are the production of this reason like as, yak shepherd and farming are occupation of the people living here.
Location of Langtang National Park
Langtang National park lies on the North of the Kathmandu. The park covers an area of 1710 square km with Nuwakot, Rasuwa and Sindupalchwok district . Langtang is the nearest trekking region from Kathmandu valley. This park is border in the north by Himalayas. It is near the Tibetan border, Langtan district and extends towards east-west direction. It dominates the Langtang Lirung mountain (7245m) which is Largest peak of the area.
Flora and Fauna
Langtang national park includes of high diversity 14 vegetation types and 18 ecosystem . It ranges upper from tropical forest below 1000m. The forest is cover by Oak tree and Sal. We can find there Sal, Rhododendron, etc. There are 250 species of birds in this region like national bird, monal, wood spine, etc. It is a area of hills and covered by mountains.
There are 12 globally threatened bird species in Langtang National Park.
46 species of mammals are in this national park. Red panda, clouded leopard, leopard cat, snow leopard, musk deer, are included in the protected list of national park act in 1973. Himalayan Black bear are frequently find in this park. Several villagers are attack by these bears every year. The park is also well known for its populations of red panda, Himalayan black bear, snow leopard, wild dog, ghoral, serow and more than 250 species of birds.

How to reach Langtang National Park?
This reason is the nearest reason from Kathmandu valley. Road and air transportation are applicable. Train are also applicable. There are regular flights and tourist coaches from Kathmandu to Langtang.
The distance between Langtang and Kathmandu is about 70km. It takes around 6h 30 min trip from bus/jeep. The distance from Tribhuvan International Airport to Langtang is 62.1 km.
