Devghat

Devghat is a sacred place situated at central part Nepal. It trisects with Nawalparasi, Chitwan and Tanahun. Devghat is a religious place where lots of people visit here worships and to get bless from God. It is a place where river Gandaki from Muktinath comes to visit River Trishuli from Gosainkunda. This place is historical place of Nepal. Devghat covers an area of 54.34 square km. There is a River which flows along the touch with Gandaki, Lumbini and Narayani zones. The junction point is known as Beni River. It is the famous religious pilgrimage site of Nepal.

Geography and Climate

There is a population of 5,786 according to the census of Nepal 1991. Devghat is a place of home for different Gods, Goddesses temples and caves related to historical gods. People visits more religiously in the Mela of Manghe Sankrati, they visit here for Mela and take Bath in Gandaki River and Worships the huge stone in the name of Lord Vishnu. There are many tropical and subtropical plants and herbs because of their nature and climate with beautiful animals, birds and creature.

The climate experience in Devghat is warm. The average temperature is 23.9 degree Celsius annually experienced. May is the warmest month and January is coldest month. Temperature in summer reaches here to 29 degree Celsius. In winter temperature falls down to 15 degree Celsius. The driest month in Devghat is December.

How to Reach Devghat?

The easiest way to reach Devghat from Kathmandu is from air transportation. You can easily get daily flights from Kathmandu to Devghat airport. It is accessible. It takes around 37-40minute. The distance between Kathmandu and Devghat is 253.1 km. It takes 8 hour 17 min to travel by bus from Prithivi highway. You can take flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu, hire a bus/taxi/jeep/car to devghat to make journey more adventurous.

Lamo Jharana

It is best place to enjoy the natural waterfall. You can trek from Jalbire Temple about 15 min to reach the waterfall. Little road way are not accessible in this place, road construction is needed but the place can make all the problems forgettable. The beauty of waterfall is so natural and deep sound around the fall of birds can make mind fresh and pure. The nature of waterfall is clean and beautiful.  The scenery is perfect. It is accessible for anytime 24 hours.

Devghat Dham

Devghat Dham is a religious place in river side. It is very famous and popular place among Nepalese. Makar Sankrati Mela is conducted every year in this River. People like out of boundary or local people visit this sacred place most.

Culture of Devghat

People living here mostly follow Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity. There are few peoples who follow other religion. People like Brahmin, Chetri, Tamang, Rai, Limbu, Magar and many others live around here. They celebrate festivals like Dashain, Tihar, Manghe sankrati, Chaitey Dashain, etc.
